When the ceiling is drying/dry should you be able to see any artex or not?

How is no one here commenting about the use of concrete render and subsequent damp issues it causes by trapping moisture in the bricks?

How would you lime plaster an uneven stone-built masonry wall, which has had the old (non-breathable) cement render removed? Would you potentially apply a third base coat of lime plaster, to help build it out? Really enjoyed this video, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills.

Incredible work always 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽I try looking everywhere supply house here locally not th home stores an no one has seen this product before my question to u do u kno if this product will be available in th northern part of th USA ….I’ve used a similar product call Rapid-set while great for small jobs in larger areas it won’t give u enough time to work with it due to so manny Accelerators An even wen a retarder is used u still only have a 10 min window from th time is mix to just losing it cause it gets hard ….again Rapid-set is a great product but I wish I can get my hands on th OCR one coat system thanks 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

So 4-1 mix 4 sand 1 cement do those buckets hold 25kg of sand?? Tia or does that 25kg of cement fill those buckets?

Iv built garden seating area I want to render would it be good to sbr the blocks then 4-1 scrach coat then 5-1-1. On top coat

Great vid. Blaine, will this work on walls where wallpaper has been taken off ? I've bought a 1930's house and the wallpaper is a thick textured paper. I'm guessing the plaster underneath won't be great. Will this product be good ?

I'm a DIY-er doing some sand and cement render at home internally. I'm struggling to calculate how much sand and cement to mix for a given square metre. Is there an easy way to estimate quantities? Also, I bought Sikabond SBR+ and I can't interpret the dosage instructions on the bottle; I can't work out how much I should be putting in. And should this go in both the scratch and top coat? I watered it down and painted it on the brickwork first. I also have a plasticiser that I have been putting a tiny splash in each time. Is it okay to use that in combination with the SBR+? Thank you

Hi Blaine. I've been plastering the outside of my house with HP12 base coat. I'm a total novice learning as I go. The issue I'm having is when I rule the cement coat is tearing. I'm I not leaving it long enough or or is it the base coat I'm using. I have a brand new feather edge Ive been using and I've 12mm straps of wood nailed to the wall to keep my cement coat even. Any help would be much appreciated thank you. 👍👍

At the end you say you carry on the process as normal, what is the process after this? Im moving to a new house and all the walls have hairline cracks everywhere using filler is too time consuming for the time we have, im wanting to do this as like a filler for the cracks in the wall, would i be able to just skim the already plastered walls 3 times and leave it at that, i just want to make the walls new and rid the hairline cracks wothout having to spend 1000s its literally every room needs doing so this is my only option i fear

Not all work places have power...so hand mixing is a vital skill...and if I'd mixed finish plaster in such a filthy bucket I'd have been in big trouble ..try skimming plaster board with solid bits of plaster from your dirty bucket...joke.

For stage 2, if I don't have a devils float, can I just float the wall and then scratch a light key in after in a figure 8 pattern?

Why are the White or off white renders in the UK are mouldy too? They are using - lime / sand cement This STO is nice

Can you use thin set

Here's a thin coat rubbing up tip for ya mate, when rubbing up, fill a gorilla tub half with water, and use two floats to rub up ( not at same time ). hang one on the side of the tub and use the other, Clean it every 10/15 secs and then use the other one that's been hanging on the side drying out, and repeat Ive always found if your float is constantly clean it glides without any drag.

Why would it need boards anyway? I live in a 70s house, no boards anywhere other than in an extension, awful material.

How do you keep the plasterboard props steady on your own? Thats the biggest problem. If they were steady like yours, it would be a lot easier...

No need to use primer on brickwork like that.

Other plastering websites say that PVA should be used on brick walls to lower the suction rate. Now I'm confused.
